One of the options we like to provide is clear braces. They are just as effective as traditional braces, but are less obvious to others. Since many of our patients are children or teens, they often are embarrassed about wearing braces. The clear braces still have metal wires separating them, but the brackets are made of ceramic, thus practically translucent. They are made to be the shade of the patient’s natural teeth, so they are barely noticeable.
The process of getting clear braces is much the same as with traditional metal braces, including getting the wires tightened regularly, and wearing them around 2-4 years. Our patients appreciate the benefit of having braces to correct their teeth and bite problems, without having metallic metal braces.
