Bonding

Accidents happen and it is unfortunately common to chip your tooth.  Whether you slip and fall or you chip your tooth against a coffee mug, this cosmetic damage can leave you feeling self-conscious.  Luckily, chipped teeth are simple and easy to fix.  Bonding is an affordable, beautiful solution offered at our practice for moderately damaged teeth.

Dental bonding makes it possible to correct structural issues that affect individual teeth.  This includes chips, cracks, fracture and even gaps created by teeth that are too narrow or short.  This cosmetic solution blends in naturally with your smile for a realistic look.  If you are ready to fix your damaged tooth and restore the aesthetic beauty of your smile, contact our practice and learn about how bonding services can help.

Bridges

Many of our patients have missing teeth and are in need of replacing them. With only a few missing teeth, partials aren’t needed and implants can be a long process to go through, which brings us to dental bridges.

With bridges, our patients are able to restore their smile with abutments that replace missing teeth, and the entire process is done in only a few short weeks. The only requirement we have for bridges is that there are natural teeth adjacent to the missing teeth, as these will have crowns to act as the tether to the bridge.

The process for dental bridges goes as follows:

1. We perform x-rays and an examination to get a good look at the natural, adjacent teeth
2. Impressions are made of the natural teeth to be used for crowns, and for making a similar abutment for the bridge.
3. The patient returns in two weeks when the abutments are ready to have crowns placed over their teeth and complete the bridge.

Bridges last about 10-15 years on average, lasting longer if the patient takes good care of their teeth. If you are in the New Hyde Park, NY area need dental bridges, contact our dentist Dr. Amit Pandya.

Adult Orthodontics and Periodontitis

Adult Orthodontics and Periodontitis

Your smile alignment plays an important role in your oral health, systemic health, and self-esteem.  Crooked teeth can be more difficult to care for and patients tend to be at a greater risk of developing periodontal diseases like periodontitis.   These serious oral health problems can damage your tooth structure and gums, sometimes resulting in tooth loss.  Adult orthodontics is a great way to prevent periodontal disease, while also improving your smile confidence.

We offer traditional braces, clear braces, and Invisalign options for adult patients at our practice.  Traditional and clear braces are excellent ways to correct bite and alignment issues.  Patients that only need to correct mild to moderate alignment issues can opt for Invisalign.  This discreet alignment option is hardly noticeable against your natural smile.  To determine the best adult orthodontic option for your smile needs, I invite you to visit our practice for a consultation.

Painless Root Canals

Painless Root Canals

It is important that any patients experiencing tooth pain visit our office to determine if a root canal is necessary.  Tooth infections can cause pain and sensitivity when they reach the nerves of your tooth.  If left untreated, infections can result in costly complications, including bone damage.

Some individuals may put off their root canal because they are nervous about the procedure.  However, we are happy to assure all of our patients that modern root canals are actually painless.  Local anesthetic is used to numb the tooth at the start of the procedure.  Then, the infected tissues are removed and the tooth is cleaned and fitted with a crown.  With the use of precise dental techniques and state-of-the-art dental technologies, the entire root canal process is painless for our patients.

If you are in need of a root canal, rely on our practice to provide you with precise care and a painless experience.

Sleep Apnea Dental Appliances

Sleep Apnea Dental Appliances

Sleep apnea is a frustrating condition for many sufferers.  In addition to nightly snoring, sleep apnea can also increase your risk of developing other serious health problems.  High blood pressure, cardiovascular disease, stroke, daily fatigue, drowsiness, and liver problems can all develop or worsen as a result of sleep apnea.

Fortunately, there are ways to treat sleep apnea at our practice.  While CPAP is commonly used as an effective sleep apnea treatment, many find the device to be uncomfortable.  We offer custom dental appliances as an alternative treatment, preventing respiratory obstruction and ensuring oxygen flow throughout the night.  Many of our patients have found dental appliances to be a more comfortable and convenient sleep apnea treatment.

If you or someone you know may be suffering from sleep apnea, contact our New Hyde Park practice for more information on how to protect your health.

Digital X-Rays

Digital X-Rays

Like just about everything else, dental x-rays have gone digital. As more and more of our lives and daily tasks are becoming digitized, you may wonder what digital dental x-rays mean for you, your smile health and what you can expect when you visit us.

Digital x-rays provide numerous advantages over previously used film x-rays. First, they’re safer—admitting 80% less radiation that conventional x-ray methods.  Since they are digital, the x-ray capture is both more compressive and precise. We are able to gain a more insightful overall view of your oral cavity and have the option of zooming in to exam specific areas.  Digital x-rays can be easily displayed and modified on a monitor, making it easy for you too to view and understand what is revealed through your x-ray exam.  Digital x-rays allow us to plan procedures and document more effectively, which is also advantageous when submitting for insurance approvals.

If you’re due for an exam or you’re ready to undergo a dental procedure, call us and ask how digital x-rays and our other capabilities can contribute to a more convenient and thorough dental care experience.
