Bonding

Accidents happen and it is unfortunately common to chip your tooth.  Whether you slip and fall or you chip your tooth against a coffee mug, this cosmetic damage can leave you feeling self-conscious.  Luckily, chipped teeth are simple and easy to fix.  Bonding is an affordable, beautiful solution offered at our practice for moderately damaged teeth.

Dental bonding makes it possible to correct structural issues that affect individual teeth.  This includes chips, cracks, fracture and even gaps created by teeth that are too narrow or short.  This cosmetic solution blends in naturally with your smile for a realistic look.  If you are ready to fix your damaged tooth and restore the aesthetic beauty of your smile, contact our practice and learn about how bonding services can help.

Mini Implants

Mini Implants

Dental implants help our patients replace missing teeth, whether it is one tooth or several teeth that are missing. There are two main types of implants available: standard implants and mini implants. Many of our patients choose to get mini implants because they are smaller in size, less expensive, and require less bone to be implanted into. They also take significantly less time for the healing process.

Here are some benefits to getting mini implants:

  • The implant process can be completed in one visit, since the three months of healing for traditional implants is not necessary.

  • They are less expensive since less work needs to be done.

  • Patients with periodontal disease make good candidates because less jawbone is needed to support the smaller implant.

  • They are ideal for implant-supported devices, such as dentures.

Mini implants are usually done during a single visit. Patients undergo anesthesia so they do not experience discomfort during the procedure. Dr. Amit Pandya drills a hole into their jaw bone, where a titanium metal post is implanted. Then, an abutment crown is placed over the top of the implant to act as the surface of the new tooth.

Schedule a consultation with us at 516-233-2135 to get the mini implant procedure started.

Invisalign

Among the many orthodontic treatments offered in our New Hyde Park dental practice, Invisalign is one of the most highly requested. With Invisalign, clear plastic aligners are worn to straighten the teeth and improve bite problems, such as overbites and underbites. Invisalign braces are similar to traditional braces in straightening teeth, though they can be removed and are practically invisible to others.

The procedure for getting Invisalign starts with impressions of the teeth to make the first set of aligners. Dr. Amit Pandya instructs the patient to wear the aligners at all times, except when eating or brushing their teeth. A new set of aligners are made about every 2-4 weeks, which work just like tightening wires of traditional braces. Mild to moderate spacing, crowding and bite issues can be corrected with Invisalign.

If you are wanting to have braces that are more comfortable and less conspicuous, consider getting Invisalign. To find out if this is a good option for you, call our dental practice at 516-233-2135 to discuss Invisalign and the many benefits.

Teeth Whitening and Bleaching

Teeth Whitening and Bleaching

A whiter, brighter smile is not always easy to keep without a little help. Little things you do every day can dull and dim the brightness of your smile. Common foods and drinks, in addition to smoking cigarettes, stain your smile over time. The teeth whitening and bleaching services offered by our dentist, Amit Pandya DDS, though, can help you erase some of the stains that have been making your smile look lackluster.

Our tray whitening system is a two-step process that often results in smile four to eight times brighter upon completion. We begin by making an impression of your mouth. Then, we create custom whitening trays for your mouth that are yours to use, over and over again in combination with our teeth whitening gel.

A brighter smile can help you feel more confident in your smile and yourself. We understand how important it is to have a brighter, whiter smile and can help you get the results you need.

Sleep Apnea Dental Appliances

Sleep Apnea Dental Appliances

Sleep apnea is a frustrating condition for many sufferers.  In addition to nightly snoring, sleep apnea can also increase your risk of developing other serious health problems.  High blood pressure, cardiovascular disease, stroke, daily fatigue, drowsiness, and liver problems can all develop or worsen as a result of sleep apnea.

Fortunately, there are ways to treat sleep apnea at our practice.  While CPAP is commonly used as an effective sleep apnea treatment, many find the device to be uncomfortable.  We offer custom dental appliances as an alternative treatment, preventing respiratory obstruction and ensuring oxygen flow throughout the night.  Many of our patients have found dental appliances to be a more comfortable and convenient sleep apnea treatment.

If you or someone you know may be suffering from sleep apnea, contact our New Hyde Park practice for more information on how to protect your health.
